How We Effect Sharks
1/30/2018
Yes that is right "we". Our actions take a huge toll on the lives of marine animals. In this case, sharks. Sharks have been feared for countless ages. Even now, humans have panicked when they see the tip of the sharks fin hovering throughout the oceans shore. But when we do see the sharks, we go into a panic and run. “Each year we should have more attacks than the last because there’s more humans entering the water, and more hours spent in the water,” said George Burgess, director of the Florida Program for Shark Research (From Time.com). But do we ever really know how they got there? Of course we know they were attracted by the scent of humans. But how did they end up in the shallow parts of the ocean? The reason why they are in the ocean is way more simple than it sounds. Even if you don't think about sharks when you leave your faucet running, or when you daydream in the shower, you should still know that it can affect the lives of sharks. Even if the process seems long, it won't seem so long when the beloved sharks are extinct, and gone from our world. The power that is used when you do those things is letting gasses out in the air, which pollutes the oxegyn. This does still affect marine life. The gasses destroy the ozone layer, which keeps the radiation from coming into our earth. This means more radition is coming in and heating the earths atmostphere. This makes oceans plant life warmer and the plants die. Then the fish have no plants to eat, which means the sharks will soon no longer have any fish to eat. Do the world a favor and SAVE THE SHARKS!

You can help the Oceana Foundation by donating or participating in their cause. This will help fund a project to help keep the sharks safe. Looking for a way to help from your home? You can help save sharks by doing basic things you do everyday! USA! All you have to do is:
- Use the sunlight! Using windows can brighten your home without electricity that uses gasses, which pollutes the air and affects the ocean
- Save water! An easy way to save water is to take short showers, don't leave water running, and only flush once!
- Awareness! It doesn't take much to be aware of what you do. So be aware that you don't litter. Even if its not directly in the ocean, sea animals who are looking for food will try to go through your food packaging, and some animals can get caught and suffocate. These animals contribute to the sharks everyday meals! Make sure to save them too!
